JACKSON, Wyo. — The Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation Department will close the Rec Center for two weeks this fall as construction continues on the facility.

The center will be closed from Sept. 15 through Oct. 1.

When the facilities reopen in October, Rec Center users should keep in mind that parking at Jackson Elementary School is no longer available due to school being in session. Visitors to the center will need to park in the Rec Center lot instead. The temporary entrance will still be in use through November.

Parks and Rec asks visitors to follow all posted signs and enter through the Gill Street parking lot entrance. The department also shared a map to illustrate updated handicap parking and access pathway information.

The eight-figure expansion project was approved by voters in 2019, with construction beginning in June 2022. Intended improvements include an expanded lobby, a larger indoor climbing facility, HVAC updates and plumbing work.
