Head-on collision near Lusk kills both drivers

WYOMING –A head-on crash yesterday near Lusk, Wyoming resulted in two fatalities.

Wyoming Highway Patrol troopers were dispatched to milepost 38 on US 18/20 near Lusk at about 6:13pm on January 3 for a two-vehicle collision.

A 1999 Chevrolet truck traveling west on US 18/20 crossed the centerline and entered the eastbound lane colliding head-on with a 1997 Pontiac car.

The driver of the Pontiac has been identified as 29-year-old Lusk, Wyoming resident Kyle Blake. Blake who was wearing his seatbelt, succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash.

The driver of the Chevrolet has been identified as Ewart Johnson, 76. Of Manville, Wyo. Johnson was not wearing his seatbelt and succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash.

This is the 2nd and 3rd fatality on Wyoming’s highways in 2019 compared to 0 in 2018, 0 in 2017, and 1 in 2016 to date.
