JACKSON, Wyo. — Cool autumn evenings have been illuminated by the brightly glowing Harvest Moon for the past several nights.
According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, September’s moon reached peak fullness on Saturday, Sept. 26, and the moon has continued to shine nightly as fullness wanes. Buckrail photographer Nick Sulzer got a glimpse of the moon on Saturday night.
Early evening moonlight at this time of year historically aided farmers during their fall harvest, which is why the full moon nearest to the autumnal equinox is referred to as the Harvest Moon.
