Gros Ventre roundabout getting closer to completion. (NPS)

JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Paving of the Gros Ventre roundabout has taken place. Beginning tomorrow and over the course of the next few days, vehicle traffic along Highway 89/26/191 in the southern part of Grand Teton National Park will be transitioning to a portion of the roundabout.

When this transition takes place, left-hand turns onto and out of the Gros Ventre Road from the highway will be prohibited. Vehicles heading West on Gros Ventre Road, wishing to go South on Highway 89/26/191 can do so using the partial roundabout.

Access to the Gros Ventre Road, including the community of Kelly and the Gros Ventre Campground, will only be available via a right turn from the highway. Highway traffic south bound wishing to access the Gros Ventre Road will be encouraged to travel Antelope Flats Road, or travel through the roundabout intersection and detour approximately two miles further south at the park entrance sign pull-through area to turn around. Highway signs will alert traffic to this temporary detour and alternate route.

Travelers should continue to prepare for approximately 15-minute daytime delays and 30-minute nighttime delays in the area. These delays are in addition to any that may be encountered with typical summer traffic levels.
