JACKSON, Wyo. — On Wednesday, June 14, community members are invited to go birding together with Jackson Hole Pride on the National Elk Refuge (NER).

The free event will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m., meeting at the entrance to the Elk Refuge Road. There will be views and expert guiding provided by U.S. Fish and Wildlife staff on the NER. Binoculars and bird guide books will be provided.

For all JH Pride events, “inclusivity and joy are [the] primary focus.” Register here.

The NER is also now offering free birding tours to look for long-billed curlews in areas typically closed to the public every Tuesday in June.

“With these excursions we want to reinforce that the Refuge provides habitats for a wide variety of species, not just elk,” says Raena Parsons, NER visitor services manager.
