JACKSON, Wyo. — On Thursday, Feb. 5, the Wyoming Game and Fish Department and the National Museum of Wildlife Art (NMWA) are teaming up to host a live YouTube tutorial to teach young artists how to draw an arctic grayling.

The arctic grayling is the subject of the 2027 Conservation Stamp Art Contest. The yearly contest winner will have their artwork featured on Wyoming’s annual conservation stamp.

Those interested in joining the live tutorial are encouraged to have the following art supplies:

  • Graphite pencil and eraser
  • Several sheets of 8.5-by-11-inch paper
  • Colored pencils
  • Micron pen or fine-line pen

While the tutorial is separate from the contest, those interested in entering the contest still have an opportunity to do so. Professional entries for the contest will be accepted until March 31. Student entries will close on April 10. Entries must follow guidelines outlined in the contest rulebook.
