JACKSON, Wyo. — As spring returns to the Tetons, Energy Conservation Works wants to share these meaningful ways to get involved in local sustainability efforts. This year, Energy Conservation Works is taking a break from hosting EcoFair to support these action-oriented sustainability events happening all week.
Threats to climate, energy and the ecosystem can feel overwhelming, but these local events offer a chance to connect, learn and make a tangible difference together. If you are passionate about clean energy, want to help beautify the town or are looking for a fun and meaningful way to spend an evening with neighbors, there’s an event for everyone in the next week.
Here’s what’s coming up:
May 10: Spring Town Clean Up
8 a.m. at Phil Baux Park
Help keep Jackson clean and green! Spring Clean Up Day is back, and everyone is invited to pitch in. Grab free compostable bags (available starting May 1) and head out on May 10 to pick up litter in the neighborhood. Volunteers can meet at Phil Baux Park at 8 a.m. to grab supplies and enjoy free coffee before getting started.
Yard Waste Drop-Off:
May 5 to 10 at the Trash Transfer Station & Fairgrounds
Bag Pickup Locations:
Town Hall, Public Works, Recycling Center
May 13: Sustainability Series – Wyoming’s Energy Landscape
5:30 p.m. at Poppy JH
Join Energy Conservation Works for a special Sustainability Series conversation with Mary Throne, Wyoming Public Service Commissioner and longtime state energy expert. The event begins with an open house and refreshments at 5:30 p.m., with a featured talk at 6 p.m. covering energy resilience, grid growth, consumer protections and the role of new technologies like community solar and battery storage.
This event is free and open to the public. All are welcome — come learn, ask questions and take part in the future of energy in Wyoming. RSVP here: bit.ly/rsvp-wyenergylandscape
May 14 to 15: Jackson Hole Summit – Energy, Economics and Environment
at Center for the Arts
The Jackson Hole Summit is a two-day event that puts Wyoming at the heart of the national clean energy conversation. The Summit brings together national thought leaders, policymakers, investors, innovators and local changemakers to explore how to balance energy needs, economic resilience and environmental stewardship in a rapidly changing world.
Day One will focus on national and state-level innovation — from next-generation nuclear and hydrogen to community solar and energy justice.
Day Two will shift to local action, highlighting projects, policies and partnerships happening right here in Teton County.
Featured speakers include Pulitzer Prize-winning author Jared Diamond, clean energy entrepreneurs, climate funders and community leaders working to scale impact across the Mountain West. The Summit is hosted by a coalition of local and regional organizations including the Jackson Hole Center for Global Affairs, Riverwind Foundation, Yellowstone-Teton Clean Cities, LegacyWorks Group and others.
Energy experts along with those just curious about what’s next for Wyoming can appreciate this rare chance to engage with practical, forward-looking ideas — and be part of shaping a more sustainable future.
