CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Governor Mark Gordon announced that the Wyoming Grants Management Office (GMO) will be hosting a free 90-minute Wildfire Recovery Webinar for landowners, homeowners, business owners and nonprofits devastated by wildfires over the past few years.
The online workshop held on Wednesday, Oct. 8, at 10 a.m., will share information about available relief opportunities and grant applications. The interactive webinar includes an opportunity for participants to direct questions to state and federal grants experts.
“The wildfire relief webinar provides essential information for anyone with property impacted by the fires here in Wyoming over these last few years,” Governor Gordon said in the announcement. “It gives landowners, homeowners and business owners an opportunity to explore potential funding options to help rebuild lost forage and infrastructure, [and] learn what programs have been eliminated, those that remain, and some that are new. Owing to the change in administration at the federal level, we wanted to make sure property owners have access to the most up-to-date information.”
Governor Gordon emphasized that funding opportunities are available with or without disaster relief designations. He noted that the state will benefit from a “recovered landscape” free of invasive species.
“The conversion of native grasslands and woodlands through invasive species is a massive threat to all we hold dear and to our basic economic infrastructure,” Wyoming Wildlife and Natural Resource Trust Executive Director Bob Budd said via press release.
Those interested can register for the GMO’s Wildfire Recovery Webinar here. The GMO has also created the extensive Wildfire Recovery Resources List, a guide to assist those impacted by wildfire.
