UNITED STATES — The Department of the Interior will observe the three-year anniversary of the Great American Outdoors Act (GAOA) by waiving entrance fees on Department-managed public lands on Friday, Aug. 4.
This means visitors can enter national parks free of charge on Friday. Other fees remain in effect, such as those for overnight camping.
The GAOA was signed on Aug. 4, 2020 to help fund projects to improve public lands. In Grand Teton National Park, for example, three GAOA projects are listed as currently active: improvements to Moose-Wilson Road, corrections to the roof and building failures at the HQ/Maintenance/Dispatch complex and replacement of the Colter Bay main wastewater lift station.

Fees will be waived in national parks on two more days in 2023: Sept. 23 (National Public Lands Day) and Nov. 11 (Veterans Day).
