JACKSON, Wyo. — The annual free bear spray giveaway is Saturday, Aug. 12 at the Teton County Fairgrounds. Beginning at 10 a.m., about 100 cans of bear spray will be given away on a first-come, first-served basis to individuals holding a valid Wyoming hunting or fishing license.

A “robobear” will also be at the event for community members to practice bear spray techniques.

Bear spray giveaways will also be held at WGFD regional offices in Pinedale on Aug. 23 at 10 a.m., in Lander on Aug. 24 at 9 a.m. and in Cody on Aug. 30 at 10 a.m.

The giveaway is made possible through partnerships with the Safari Club International Foundation, Wyoming Game and Fish Department, American Bear Foundation, Campfire Conservation Fund and Mystery Ranch.
