JACKSON, Wyo. — The Town of Jackson announced Wednesday that two new stop signs would be installed at the intersection of Snow King Avenue and Willow Street, converting the existing two-way stop into a four-way stop.

“Given increased year-round traffic at this intersection with camp and ski-school drop-offs, people in and out of the ice rink and events center, new developments on this block and bike lanes in the summer months, various community members requested this change,” the announcement reads.

The new signs will be installed on Thursday, May 2. The decision was made after a study of traffic patterns in the area. Willow was recently designated as a “Safe Street” project, designed to make the street more safely usable for pedestrians and cyclists.

“The hardest part may be learning the new pattern and changing locals’ habits, so please make a mental note to stay alert at Snow King and Willow until you have adjusted to coming to a full-stop at every approach to this intersection!” the announcement said.
