Bela Fleck and the Flecktones

JACKSON, WY— The Flecktones consider themselves “a family—but not a dysfunctional one. A functional family.” Like a fine wine, Béla Fleck and the Flecktones only get better with age. And in their 30th year together as a band, the Grammy-winning quartet will be the featured talent at The Center Benefit Wednesday, July 11 in The Center Theater.

Groundbreaking banjoist/composer/bandleader Béla Fleck has reconvened the original ‘Béla Fleck & The Flecktones’, the extraordinary initial line-up of his incredible combo, with pianist/harmonica player Howard Levy back in the fold alongside Fleck, bassist Victor Wooten, and percussionist/ drummer Roy “Futureman” Wooten, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the band’s inception.

“The thing that makes The Flecktones, The Flecktones, is that we’ve all been considered crazy when it comes to relating to our instruments and our approach to our instruments,” says Wooten.

Preparations for this highly anticipated event are well underway by the 2018 Benefit Committee – Agnes Bourne, Jenny Felsinger, Mack Mendenhall, and Amanda Moore – who are organizing an extraordinary pre- and post-show celebration. All proceeds from The Center Benefit will help to support The Center’s artistic, education, and community programs. Your attendance and support of this event ensures that arts, culture, and education remain central to the Jackson Hole community as the bond that ties us all together.

Hors D’oeuvres and drinks will be served in the Center lobby starting at 6:30 p.m. The concert begins at 8 p.m. and an after party will follow in the lobby. Get your tickets here.
