STAR VALLEY, WYO – Firefighters have turned the corner on the Marten Creek Fire. The incident is now at 6,477 acres with 81% containment. Some 347 are working the fire.

Priority continues to be limiting the fire’s spread east-west. Crews will be working to create direct line from Red Canyon to Marten Creek and continue to secure line south to DP-10. Ground crews are continuing to patrol completed line in Division Z. Priority remains on keeping the fire from progressing to the east and west of the main fire.

  • 48 hours: Low potential for fire spread, interior islands may continue to burn with isolated torching.

  • Anticipated after 72 hours: Low potential for fire spread, interior islands may continue to burn with isolated torching.

The Greys River Rd #10138 is closed south of Sheep Creek/McDougal Gap Road and Greys River confluence to Spring Creek Road along with other area minor roads. An Emergency Area Closure has also been implemented. Stage 1 Fire Restrictions are now in effect.
