Firefighters jumped on the blaze quickly and achieved containment by day's end.

SWEETWATER COUNTY, WYO – Firefighters in Rock Springs jumped quickly on a wind-swept residential blaze that resulted in evacuations but no injuries.

Sheriff Mike Lowell issued an update late yesterday on the fire north of Rock Springs in the area of Mesa Lane and Melody Drive. Firefighters were able to contain the blaze, and Yellowstone Road reopened late in the day. Crews were still on scene suppressing hot spots into the night last night.

As emergency vehicles remain in the area, motorists are advised to drive carefully and be alert for law enforcement officers on foot directing traffic.

If you do not live in the area, please avoid it to aid in preventing traffic congestion.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway and more news is expected today.
