Wednesday, April 19, 5:30 – 7 pm

From the Page to the Stage: Water by the Spoonful

Off Square Theatre and the Wyoming Humanities Council invite you to join director Dr. Karin Waidley and the professional cast of Water by the Spoonful for an open rehearsal. Get an inside scoop on the challenges and opportunities of translating this Pulitzer Prize-winning play from the page to the stage. Free. Learn more about the play that begins next week.

Artist Talk with Verónica Gerber Bicecci

Join the Art Association of Jackson Hole at Teton County Library for the first event in multi-day Art in Translation series. Collaborating with Patti Rocha, guest artist Gerber Bicecci presents a radio program in both English and Spanish. The piece combines visual and performance pieces to highlight the experience of similar stories being told in two languages. Free. To see all the events in the series, click here.

Opening Reception: Holdout by Thomas Macker

Meet artist Thomas Macker at an opening reception for his new show Holdout at the Center for the Arts. Macker uses new media materials and techniques to explore camouflage, bygone war propaganda and the identity of the “holdout” figure in modern warfare. Free.

U.S. Poet Laureate: Juan Felipe Herrera

Our country’s first Mexican American U.S. Poet Laureate, Juan Felipe Herrera, presents “Because We Come from Everything: Poetry and Migration” at the Center for the Arts. The evening is presented by Teton County Library, with free tickets available at their Youth Desk. Herrera also gives a free writing workshop on Saturday. Learn more here.

Spring Music Festival

Cathedral Voices brings the community a memorable, amazing weeklong Spring Music Festival culminating in a Gala Concert at the Center for the Arts featuring 3 community choirs: Jackson Hole High School Concert Choir, Jackson Hole Chorale and Cathedral Voices Chamber Choirs.
