WILSON, Wyo. — Fall Creek Road in Wilson will be closed until 1 p.m. on Sunday. Feb. 2, following multiple avalanches in the area, according to an alert from Teton County Emergency Management (TCEM).

TCEM’s alert message includes a map of the incident, pinpointing a location near Fall Creek Road’s intersection with Heck of A Hill Road, not far from WY22. Fall Creek Road will be closed to allow crews to clear avalanche debris, the agency said.

“Multiple avalanches have occurred on Fall Creek Rd,” TCEM’s alert reads. “Avalanches can occur quickly, causing injury or death and can impact roads and property in affected areas.”

Avalanche danger in the Tetons is “considerable” above 6,000 feet and “high” above 7,500 feet, according to the Bridger-Teton Avalanche Center. Conditions have evolved with the arrival of a major storm. A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 11 a.m. on Monday.
