JACKSON, Wyo. — Next week, a few minor maintenance projects will take place around downtown, and Teton County is informing residents of partial closures.

On Monday, June 8, crews will be applying dust-control treatment to the gravel areas of the Teton County Fairgrounds parking lot. According to a statement from the County, “an environmentally friendly magnesium chloride solution” will be placed on the east side of the parking lot. This area stretches from the tennis courts to the western fence line of the Grassy Arena. The west side of the gravel lot will receive the treatment on Thursday, June 11.

“For safety, the Fairgrounds parking lot will be closed to all vehicles during application,” Teton County said. “Dust-control treatments help stabilize unpaved surfaces, reducing uneven areas and creating a safer environment for both vehicles and pedestrians.”

Other temporary closures are expected on East Simpson Avenue in relation to the Justice Center construction. Teton County said utility work, which includes capping a water line and a sewer line, will affect vehicle access and parking near the temporary courthouse at 250 E. Simpson Ave. Water and wastewater service to the temporary courthouse will not be interrupted, per the County.

Those closures will begin on Tuesday, June 9, when the alley behind the temporary courthouse will be closed and there will be no parking behind the courthouse. On Wednesday and Thursday, June 10 and 11, a stretch of East Simpson will be closed directly in front of the temporary courthouse, and there will be no street parking available in the location of the closure. On Friday, June 12, the alley and the portion of East Simpson will both be closed for paving. The areas will reopen once paving is complete.
