JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton County residents will cast their votes in the primary election Tuesday, Aug. 20. On the ballot are candidates for U.S. Senate and U.S. Representative and two Board of County Commissioner seats, among others.
A voter’s ballot will vary depending on physical address and party affiliation.
For those wanting to know what their ballot will look like, samples are available from the county here. Voters can consult this map to see what district and precinct they reside in to direct them to the form they will see at the polls.
Here’s what to expect on the ballot:
Unaffiliated voters in Teton County will cast a ballot in two races, including two open seats for the Town Council of Jackson and two for the Teton County Board of County Commissioners.
All affiliated voters will choose a candidate for U.S. Senate and a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives. The Democratic candidates for these offices are running unopposed. Scott Morrow is the Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate and Kyle Cameron is the candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives.
Republicans will choose between three candidates for U.S. Senate and two for the U.S. House of Representatives. Senate incumbent John Barrasso faces challenges from John Holtz and Reid Rasner, and Representative Harriet Hageman faces a challenge from Stephen Helling.
Residents registered in Jackson proper will vote for a new Mayor and pick from six candidates to elect two new members of the Town Council of Jackson. This includes those in precincts 01-02, 01-04, 105-01, 105-02 , 01-06 and 01-11.
Depending on what precinct people live in, they may also be voting on candidates for the State Senate and State House of Representatives, along with a Precinct Committee Man and Precinct Committee Woman.
Absentee voting is open through 5:00 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 19 in the basement of the Teton County Administrative Building at 200 S Willow St. Regular voting will take place Tuesday, Aug. 20. Go here for a list of polling sites.
