DRIGGS, Idaho — According to the National Weather Service, Pocatello Station, a flood watch is in effect in portions of central, southeastern and eastern Idaho through Sunday afternoon.

The flood watch alert went into effect on May 3, just before 2 p.m.

“Heavy rain may fall on a deep primed snowpack leading to the melt increasing,” states the alert. “Flows in rivers may increase quickly and reach critical levels.”

  • Franklin/Eastern Oneida Region
  • Bear Lake Valley
  • Blackfoot Mountains
  • Caribou Range
  • Big Hole Mountains
  • Teton Valley
  • Centennial Mountains
  • Island Park
  • Beaverhead
  • Lemhi Highlands
  • Sawtooth/Stanley Basin
  • Sun Valley Region
  • Wood River Foothills

Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop, says the National Weather Service.
