UPDATE: 7/29 9:21am – The AP reports that the lodge is still hosting guests although the dining room and tea room are closed. The bar, lobby and lodging remain open.

Dubois, Wyo – A Structure Fire early Sunday morning caused significant damage to Brooks Lake Lodge, 30 miles West of Dubois. All 15 guest who were staying at the lodge at the time of the fire were evacuated safely with no injuries.

The Dubois Fire Department responded to a report of a Structure Fire and the first arriving units found heavy smoke showing from the attic on the North End of dinning room and bar area of a large log construction commercial building. Firefighters attacked the fire from the interior and cut vent holes on the roof.

The Historic building was saved, but with damage to the roof, dining room Ceilings and Sitting Room Ceilings. The damage is estimated at about $300,000.

There were two minor injuries to Firefighters. The fire is currently under investigation by Wyoming State Fire Marshals Office. Several Mutual Aide Engines from Fremont County Fire District also responded.
