JACKSON, Wyo. — Jackson Hole photographer and life-long dog lover Helena Hermosillo has released a self-published book, “Dogs Of Jackson Hole.” More than a collection of photographs, this book is a tribute to the dogs of Jackson Hole, their human companions, and the vibrant community that makes Jackson a great place to be a dog.
“Dogs of Jackson Hole” ($75) is available just in time for the holiday season. The book features stunning portraits of over 150 dogs, accompanied by some heartwarming stories shared by their companions.
Join us for a photo exhibit and book sale at The Center for the Arts, Center Commons Room (Glenwood Street Lobby) Thursday, November 30, from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
An ode to our canine companions, “Dogs of Jackson Hole” is more than just a coffee table book. Through her talents, Helena has not only created a beautiful showcase for our beloved family pets but has also given shelter animals their time to shine. With the auction of the cover and through a portion of her sales, “Dogs of Jackson Hole” is helping hundreds of local pets in need through PAWS. PAWS is our local animal welfare non-profit that supports our community pet owners and pets by providing a lifeline of support through financial aid programs, education, Mutt-Mitts and their open-admission animal shelter in Driggs, Idaho.

Helena grew up in Mexico City surrounded by dogs. “They’ve always been an integral part of my life, providing companionship, love and unforgettable memories,” she says. However, when she and her husband moved to Jackson nearly two years ago, their dogs had to stay behind with their families.
She missed her dogs tremendously but luckily had landed in a very dog-friendly town where she saw dogs riding shotgun in cars, dogs lounging in the back of pickup trucks and frolicking everywhere.
All of the proceeds from the auction of the book’s cover have already been generously donated to PAWS, which played a crucial role in assisting Helena with the project, providing support in planning, spreading the word and helping the photo sessions.

Reflecting on her experience, Helena expressed, “It was clear that Jackson was a true ‘dog town.’ I wanted to create a keepsake that not only celebrates the dogs but also contributes to the welfare of animals in our community.”
Helena’s connection with each dog is evident in the portraits, as she captured their expressions and personalities. The authenticity of the book is further enhanced by the unedited stories accompanying some of the portraits, shared by the dogs’ adoring companions from various perspectives – adding a genuine touch to the book.
“Dogs Of Jackson Hole” promises to be a perfect holiday gift for dog lovers and Jackson enthusiasts alike.
