TETON VILLAGE, Wyo. — A new yet familiar option for hungry skiers has landed at Teton Village.
Cowboy Coffee has soft-opened a new coffee shop in the Village, occupying the former home of the Alpenrose restaurant on the ground floor of the Alpenhof. This is the coffee company’s third location in Jackson Hole. Baristas began pouring on Monday, April 1, in time for Gaper Day, and will continue daily from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. as the resort finishes this ski season. The shop will observe Jackson Hole Mountain Resort’s off-season closure, with plans to reopen this summer with extended hours.
The new location is offering Cowboy’s classic coffee and beverage menu, along with hot breakfast items and grab-and-go fare. It’s also selling a few menu items that are unique from its downtown and drive-thru locations, including a breakfast burger.
Cowboy Coffee Co-Owner Pete MacIlwaine told Buckrail that the new shop is a large, inviting space, making good use of the Alpenrose’s chalet-style architecture and fixtures, including the fireplace and plentiful seating. MacIlwaine also noted that Cowboy Coffee is sharing the space with the Jackson Hole Winery, which will offer wine tastings in the afternoons.
MacIlwaine said he’d been hoping to open a Teton Village location for some time, and was delighted when the Alpenhof’s new owners approached Cowboy Coffee about a partnership. He said he’s excited to bring a more affordable, local and family-friendly option to the Village.
Down the road, Cowboy Coffee’s new operation plans to serve kid-friendly foods like chicken tenders and fries, plus ice cream from Jackson Hole Drug. The team is also in the process of acquiring a liquor license. Potential renovations to the Alpenhof might affect the new shop at a later date.
