JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Promoters of the Dead & Company show that was slated for last summer and on an agenda for consideration this summer say the show is off. Again.
Colorado Based Agency, Highline Sports & Entertainment, says it is suspending efforts to bring Dead & Company to Jackson Hole. James Deighan, Managing Partner of Highline stated,
“In the end, we did everything in our power and used our vast expertise to bring this incredible opportunity to Teton County, but there were simply too many barriers to make it happen.”
The proposed dates and routing for the artist were only part of the problem, according to Deighan. There were simply too many hoops to jump through at the county level to get the show on the ground this summer or last.
“The insurmountable hurdle in the end was the number and complexity of permitting barriers, overcoming the numerous and disparate concerns around the county’s camping restrictions, traffic and routing issues, neighboring property concerns, noise curfews and so on,” Deighan added. “It’s a real shame because this could have been a monumental experience for Jackson Hole and Teton County; experientially as well as financially in terms of both sales revenue and tax revenues.”
Deighan said very little progress was made over the past year and “negative signals” from the county’s permitting department indicated the concert would be tough pull off.
“The process was headed towards the same result as a year ago—a scenario where moving through the bureaucratic permitting process would require too much maneuvering to execute on such an expansive enterprise.
Deighan said he was simply not comfortable with the level of risk and complexity involved in bringing Dead & Company here.
Will county be Grateful for Dead show this summer?
