JACKSON, Wyo. — You know what they say, hydrate or diedrate. And thanks to the community, Jackson students will be staying hydrated all year.
The Jackson community donated around 600 water bottles to be used by Jackson Hole Middle School (JHMS) students.
The Reusable Water Bottle Round-Up to benefit the JHMS came to an end on Friday, November 6th. Reusable water bottles were collected at JHMS, Town Hall, and the Recycling Center.
Students are required to bring a reusable water bottle to school every day. Collected bottles will be sanitized and given to students who forget to bring their own and will reduce reliance on single-use water cups.
“I was blown away by the outpouring of support from our community,” Ben Brettell, School Social Worker at JHMS said. “This water bottle drive reminded me of two things. First, the people in our town and county want to support our students. Second, we can’t forget about the basic necessities even when we’re in the midst of a pandemic. In fact, more than ever, this is a time when our basic needs are most pivotal. JHMS received nearly 600 water bottle donations from individuals, businesses, and nonprofit agencies, and many are already back in use within our school!”
