JACKSON, Wyo. — The sudden passing of longtime community member Bill Campbell has the valley mourning this week.
Campbell, 83, suffered a heart attack while riding his bike on the Stilson Pathway in Wilson. He died on October 9.
A lawyer by trade, Campbell was active in the community, serving on numerous volunteer boards including Friends of Pathways, Jackson Hole Land Trust, and Teton Youth & Family Services. He also once co-owned Teton Village Sports with Skip Helm from 2004 through 2012.
As an avid pathway user, Campbell served on the FOP board from 2011-2015.
Friends of Pathways issued the following statement today on its Facebook page: “He was admired for his quiet and thoughtful leadership and his big-picture thinking, which helped guide FOP through several transition periods.”
