WYOMING – They did it. The Cody School District passed and adopted policy to allow teachers and other staff to be armed while on school grounds. Trained school personnel carrying concealed firearms could be in Cody schools by next fall.
The vote at the third reading last night was 4-2 in favor of Policy CKA. Earlier in March, Uinta County became the first district in the state to allow school staff to concealed carry.
Teachers desiring to carry a concealed firearm will have to pass a background check and undergo a minimum of 12 to 18 hours of ongoing training.
