JACKSON, WY — Bridger-Teton National Forest extended a huge thanks to Wyoming Backcountry Hunters and Anglers yesterday for their hard work during the town cleanup.
A group of nine volunteers took it upon themselves to clean up trash from the target shooting area by Flat Creek, behind the National Elk Refuge, last month. They were able to remove approximately 700 pounds of trash in just three hours.
“That’s a lot of trash,” said BTNF Public Affairs Specialist Evan Guzik. “It was awesome.”
As hunters themselves, the volunteers from Backcountry Hunters and Anglers wanted to do their part in cleaning waste left behind from guns and target practice. Who knows how long it would have taken a single person to pick up all that trash, and BTNF has their hands full as it is. This group of nine found a meaningful and immediately impactful way to make a difference in the community.
Hats off to ya, Backcountry Hunters and Anglers.
