JACKSON, Wyo. — This month’s Chat with Council event will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 27, to discuss the town’s sustainability plan, ecosystem health and water restrictions update.
The event will be led by Councilwoman Alyson Spery, Councilmember Kevin Regan and Ecosystem Stewardship Coordinator Tanya Anderson, and can be attended in person at the Town Hall or online via Zoom from 12 to 1 p.m. The Chat with Council is open for anyone to join.
The informal chat will delve into recent water usage after an emergency ordinance was put into place to prioritize water availability for domestic/household use and fire suppression. The ordinance is scheduled to end on October 31.
The talk will also cover the Town’s 2024 Sustainability Plan, which has expanded from primarily focusing on reducing greenhouse gas emissions to encompassing resilience and adaptation in response to the impacts of climate change, according to the Town. The plan is intended to be updated every five years, starting in 2030.
The monthly event, which is not an official Town Council meeting, is an opportunity for community members to share input, ask questions and engage in dialogue with Town Officials.
