JACKSON, Wyo. — The wait is over!
With chilly temps descending on the valley over the weekend and more to come, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) has announced Thursday, Dec. 4, as the official opening day to kick off its 60th anniversary ski season.
In a Monday press release, JHMR said that much of the north side of the resort has snow coverage from the resort’s continuous snowmaking efforts as well as 65 inches of snowfall at the summit and 34 inches at mid-mountain.
“With more snow in the forecast, we can’t wait to welcome our first guests on Thursday and share some incredible days on the mountain together this winter,” JHMR CEO Doug Pierini said in the press release. “As we all know, there’s no bad day on snow, and this season promises plenty of memorable moments for everyone.”
Three chairlifts will open on Thursday, including Teewinot, Apres Vous and the Sweetwater Gondola up to the mid-station. Skiers will be able to access a variety of beginner and intermediate trails through these lifts.
“Early season conditions still exist, and all guests are advised to stay out of closed areas and look for hazards,” JHMR said in the statement.
JHMR plans to announce additional terrain and chairlifts opening over next weekend, or sooner if conditions allow. The last day of skiing planned at the resort will be April 12, 2026.
