Campgrounds in GTNP closing soon for season

JACKSON, Wyo. — It’s that time of year again. Days are getting shorter, nights crisper, and colorful leaves are falling throughout the valley; which means many camping areas within Grand Teton National Park (GTNP) will soon be closed for the season.

“Campgrounds around the park will soon be closing for the season. If you’re hoping to camp in Grand Teton, check to make sure the campground you want is still available,” GTNP said on Facebook.

Several campgrounds, like Colter Bay and Jenny Lake, will be closing for the season on Sept. 27. Others, like Signal Mountain, will remain open a little longer until Oct. 18.

Please remember that camping in Grand Teton is only allowed in designated sites within campgrounds. Camping is not permitted in pullouts, trailheads, or other parking areas.

For more information on hours of operation and seasonal closures in GTNP, please visit the park website online.
