UPDATE: The areas of Wilcox Gallery, Flat Creek Motel and Gas Station, the homes above the Flat Creek Motel, and the Nichols Springs Subdivision are all in SET stage (evacuation advisory). These subdivisions should be prepared to evacuate.
UPDATE: Highway 89 is open in both directions but may experience intermittent closures due to smoke.
Grand Teton National Park has closed N Highway 89 headed south. Officials are directing traffic down Spring Gulch Road.
JACKSON, Wyo – Buckrail has received several eye witness reports of a wildland fire burning on the hillside just north of the National Museum of Wildlife Art off of highway 89. The fire was reported around 3:20pm and multiple agencies are currently responding to the fire. At this time the road is still open however expect some traffic delays as emergency personnel attend to the scene. Buckrail will keep you posted as we learn more.
