JACKSON HOLE, WYO – (UPDATE, 3:53pm) The gas leak has been mitigated and activity around Jackson Elementary has returned to normal.
(UPDATE, 3:35pm) Lower Valley Energy is on scene and assessing the situation. It is believed a buried gas line was struck by workers in the area.
Authorities say it is now safe for parents to pick up their students at the south entrance of Jackson Elementary only. Police are directing traffic in the area.

Precautionary measures are being taken with students and faculty of Jackson Elementary after a gas leak was discovered nearby.
At this time, authorities are stressing that everyone is safe. There is no imminent danger and parent are asked to wait for the “all clear” before attempting to pick up their kids.
