WILSON, Wyo. – Nora’s Fish Creek Inn, an iconic local restaurant that has been a staple in the valley since 1982, is keeping the tradition alive under new ownership.
In October 2022, Nora’s was purchased by locals Tom Fay and Eddie Opler. After its reopening, the restaurant continues to be a second home for all of its patrons and strives to provide the same warmth and comfort as always.
“The soul of Nora’s is always going to be the same,” says Christian Riley, the front of house manager at Nora’s. Nora’s was the first place Riley found community after coming to Jackson Hole and she’s dedicated to making Nora’s feel like home to both regulars and tourists.
For Opler, Nora’s was the first place his family would go when they came to Jackson, and those memories are what drove him to preserve the restaurant. “Our goal is to continue to deliver the experience that people have come to know,” Opler says. “For all those folks heading to the mountain each and every week, come on in.”
Nora’s continues to lean into its comfort food identity, so while the space is brighter than before and boasts live TVs for sporting events, the emphasis is still on its traditional and beloved home-style cooking. The decadent huevos rancheros and banana bread french toast continue to be staples on the menu, in addition to healthier options like an egg white omelet.
There’s also a whole new lunch menu to experience, curated by chef consultant Delaney Burst. She’s been intentional about providing options for everyone, from vegetarian dishes to meat-heavy choices. “It’s been really fun to keep the ode to Nora’s,” Burst said of designing the lunch menu, emphasizing the continued casual and delicious vibe of the food.
Nora’s plans to open for dinner by the summer. Fay is hoping the additional meals will extend the energy of the classic breakfast throughout the rest of the day. For him, it’s all about “keeping the spirit of Nora’s alive with good food, good drinks, and good times.”
Opler also hopes to enhance the outdoor seating to “take advantage of looking west to the pass and north and south along the Tetons.”
And, for everyone asking, Nora’s has made the decision to improve their coffee selection by pouring Overview, a local coffee company that utilizes regenerative agriculture.
“Take your time,” Riley says. “Try not to rush. Savor every moment, because it is an experience.”
Nora’s is also always looking for awesome locals to be part of the team and help carry on the tradition. In addition to working in one of the coziest cabins in the valley, employees will get housing provided as well. Anyone interested can email norasfishcreekinnwilson@gmail.com or call 307-733-7662, or come in!
Nora’s is open for breakfast from 6:30 to 10:45 a.m. and lunch from 11:15 to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, and for breakfast all day Saturday and Sunday.
