Art Association begins 2018 with two grant awards
JACKSON HOLE, WYO – The Art Association of Jackson Hole was awarded two grants recently from Center of Wonder and Community Foundation of Jackson Hole.
Gallery Revitalization Project
The Art Associatione received a $10,000 Strategic Partnership Grant from Center of Wonder to support the revitalization of the gallery. Under the new leadership of Bronwyn Minton, the gallery space will be activated with art forms, exhibits and performances that enhance and support Art Association programs, engage the community, including artists, visitors of all ages, and residents of The Center.
Additionally, plans will encourage community participation, ensuring all community members have the opportunity to actively participate in the creation of exhibitions. The first exhibition curated by Minton, Starry Starry Room, opens on Friday, January 12, and will be on display until February 19.
The Art Association was also awarded a $10,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole to support the outreach program, Creating Hand-in-Hand, which provides art education and experiences to all community members, regardless of socioeconomic status, background, age or abilities. This program partners with more than 20 local nonprofits to fulfill this mission. In response to the rapidly changing demographics in the community, the program will increase and enhance dedicated arts programming for Latino families.
Plans are in place to strengthen existing partnerships and broaden the scope of work, launching new partnerships with organizations including Van Vleck House and the 21st Century Heroes program.
“We’re thrilled to begin the new year with these very meaningful investments in two of our most critical program areas. We can’t thank these funders, their board members, and committee members enough,” said Jill Callahan, director of development.
