JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Anderson East will bring Alabama soul to JacksonHoleLive!’s season closer this Sunday, which will also feature Canyon Kids. East will be featured on the upcoming season of Austin City Limits and has been touring all over the U.S. and Europe in support of his 2018 album, Encore, produced by Dave Cobb (Sturgill Simpson, Jason Isbell).

Born Michael Anderson before changing his stage moniker to Anderson East in 2010, the thirty-year old has been making waves in Music City for the past several years. A romantic stint with Miranda Lambert and a creative relationship with Chris Stapleton would have you think he’s the next big thing in the Nashville country machine. But East is an R&B soulman with a powerful, bluesy howl to match—bringing to mind JJ Grey as well as Nathaniel Rateliff’s venture into horn-laced soul. East is touring with a lush nine-piece band that features two backup vocalists, trumpet, sax, keys, guitar, bass, and drums.

Canyon Kids—the project of singer-songwriters Bo Elledge and Dusty Nichols—will make their third appearance at JacksonHoleLive! since 2015. The folk-rock duo has a new rhythm section, this time staging a five-piece that includes drummer Shawn Fleming, bassist Leif Routman, and vocalist Sheena Dhamsania. Canyon Kids released the seven-track Leviathan last summer, while Elledge dropped his debut solo EP, Love & Good Luck, this past Valentine’s Day.

JacksonHoleLive! presents Anderson East with guests Canyon Kids, 6 p.m. Sunday at Snow King Ball Field. Admission is $5/adults and free for 17 and under. More information at JacksonHoleLive.org.
