Update: Dec. 28: As of about 9 p.m. on Dec. 27, the toilets affected by the clogged pipes were back up and running, Jackson Hole Airport Communications Manager Megan Jenkins confirmed. A diaper had been flushed, causing the clog.

JACKSON, Wyo. — It’s been an eventful day at the Jackson Hole Airport, with delays and late arrivals due to winter weather and an aircraft sliding into a snowbank. Now the toilets are broken.

According to Megan Jenkins, Jackson Hole Airport communications manager, there is a clog in the pipes and porta-potties have been brought in.

“For travelers who prefer not to use those [porta-potties], we are providing escorts to the restrooms in the terminal,” Jenkins said. “We are working as fast as we can to resolve the issue.”

This incident comes after the runway was closed this morning for about an hour after a G200 jet slid into a snowbank while taxiing. No injuries were reported and ground crews were able to dig and pull the aircraft out of the snow and back onto the taxiway.

Flights are now back on schedule. Fourteen flights arrived late today and another 12 were delayed. Four flights were canceled.

Editor’s note: “taxing” was updated to “taxiing” in the fourth paragraph.
