Teton Tutors - ACT

JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton Tutors is running an ACT prep class at the Teton County Library every Monday and Wednesday evening from February 24 through March 18. The 16 hours of instruction will include three full practice tests and cover all sections: reading, math, English and science.

The class is taught by Jake Glass who has been a professional ACT and SAT tutor for almost five years. He is excited to take what he learned from test prep tutoring in his hometown of Chicago and apply it toward helping students in Jackson.

Jake’s background in computer science allows him to bring an analytical aspect to the exam through bridging content and test-taking strategies to make every hour of instruction as effective as possible.

“It makes you think through problems logically and break it down component by component,” said Jake when asked about how his computer science background makes him a good tutor. “We tend to be fairly analytical and it helps us pick up on patterns of performance in students.”

“There’s a lot of methodology that goes into teaching the test, but the key to doing well on the ACT is practice,” said Jake.
