JACKSON, Wyo. — Spring must be here, because the annual Touch-A-Truck event hosted by the Jackson Hole Children’s Museum (JHCM) is happening on Saturday.

Touch-A-Truck is a special Jackson tradition, 13 years running, where families with kids of all ages can learn about different kinds of vehicles, and even play with the levers, switches and gears that make them go. This year’s free event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, at the southern parking lots for the Davey Jackson Elementary School and the Teton County/Jackson Community Recreation Center.

The event, which draws over 2,000 locals and visitors, will have many different kinds of vehicles on site, including a helicopter, hot air balloon, construction trucks, law enforcement vehicles and more. Young people and parents will have the opportunity to learn about the rigs and climb up inside for a firsthand experience. There will also be food trucks, face painting and other engaging activities for children.

“The 13th annual Touch-A-Truck is extra exciting as it coincides with the same year that we hope to finally open and share our forever home with the community,” said JHCM Executive Director Ethan Lobdell.

The permanent location currently being built for JHCM will sit at 105 Mercill Ave. and will include a 5,200 square foot museum. It is on track to be completed before the end of the year.

Families are invited to complete a free registration in advance for Touch-A-Truck online. Donations of $10 per person or $40 per family are encouraged and appreciated. Carpooling to the event is suggested, and JHCM asks that attendees be respectful of the surrounding neighborhoods when parking.

This event is made possible through the generous sponsorship of Big-D Construction, Jackson Hole Airport and Bank of Jackson Hole.
