TETON VILLAGE, Wyo. — The 10th Annual Rendezvous Mountain Hill Climb went down, or up rather, this past Saturday at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.
One hundred and ten racers returned to the traditional course, from the base of JHMR to the summit of Rendezvous Mountain, home of Corbet’s Cabin and Big Red.
The course is a grueling 6.1 miles and 4,139 vertical feet.
The first place male and female racers earned $1,000 each. Tyler McCandless finished first overall with a time of 1:01:53, just shy of breaking one hour, which would have earned him an additional $1,000 bonus. Kim Dobson was first in for the women and fifth overall with a time of 1:08:37.
In second place for the men was Michelino Sunseri with a time of 1:05:28. Samantha Diaz took second for the women and 14th overall with a time of 1:17:55 .
Neil Bangs and Andie Cornish finished third in the male and female categories, with times of 1:05:53 and 1:24:41, respectively. Bangs and Cornish each won $300.
