Riot Act Inc.’s Annual Series of Shorts

Need some small bites of comedy and drama? Seven original works were submitted for the Series of Shorts contest and judges ultimately selected three short plays to be produced. The shows will take place at Dancers’ Workshop. Get tickets at the door or online.

Thursday, June 8, 5 – 8 pm

Art Opening: Color Freak Jina

Guest artist Jina Kim joins Penny Lane Cooperative for the evening. Originally from South Korea, Jina’s work is inspired by pattern, vibrant color, Native American art, and Western landscape. Meet the artist, then view her work on canvas as well as bags and throw pillows. Learn more.

Friday, June 9, 5 – 8 pm

FoundSpace 2017

Come see the work of five local artists, Bland Hoke, Matt Daly, Jenny Dowd, Ben Roth, and Bronwyn Minton, who gathered objects from Jackson Hole Land Trust conservation properties to create their outdoor installations at the Wilson Centennial Ponds. Food from Genevieve’s Food Truck ($2), music with One Ton Pig and beverages will be on hand. Free, see the specific locations.

Saturday, June 10, 10:30 pm

The Otters

The Otters, garage-soul from Jackson Hole duo, play late night rock’n’roll sets at the Rose. Featuring local artists Zach Zimmerman on drums/eclectic outfits and Jay Alm on guitar/vocals/and other sound paraphernalia. Free.

Sunday, June 11, 10 am – 3 pm

5th Annual Touch-a-Truck

Bring your kids to the 5th annual Touch-a-Truck event featuring more than 30 vehicles to explore in a safe environment at the Jackson Hole Children’s Museum. This event features nine-year-old DJ Grady 324 and many activities. Local artist, Alissa Davies will be selling her truck art to help benefit the Museum, and a limited edition of Abby Paffrath trucker hats will be on sale. Learn more.

Sunday, June 13, 10 am – 3 pm

Teen Poetry Slam  
Teen Poets are invited to take the stage at the Center for the Arts to read or recite original poetry. Fantastically amusing prizes will be awarded to those students who rise to the top. Learn more.
