YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK — According to Yellowstone National Park (YNP), Mammoth Hot Springs and the surrounding area is under a winter weather advisory starting Thursday, March 6.

“‘False spring’ and a period of warm days in the northern range almost tricked us into thinking winter was over!” YNP writes on its Facebook.

For visitors planning to head out to Lamar Valley or Cooke City today, YNP advises drivers to use caution heading east, give plows room, take it slow and allow plenty of time to stop.

The Albright Visitor Center is open every day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for anyone looking for shelter from the snow.

Jackson will also see some snow, but totals will be much heavier across Central Wyoming including Lander, Riverton and Casper.
