Yellowstone National Park Press Release

MAMMOTH HOT SPRINGS, Wyo. — Yellowstone National Park (YNP) will host the Lighting of Teepees for a second year, running from Aug. 1 to 7.

The event will showcase the continuing presence of American Indian Tribes in the area. The Lighting of Teepees: An Era of Unity and Inclusivity will feature seven teepees that light up at sunset each evening. It will be free and open to the public.

The illuminated teepees will be visible from the Roosevelt Arch in Gardiner, Mont.

This year’s Lighting of Teepees is a collaboration among Pretty Shield Foundation, Rocky Mountain Tribal Leaders Council and Yellowstone Forever.
