UPDATE at 8:49 a.m. on Oct. 11: Yellowstone National Park has reported that crews have finished repairs to the boardwalks ahead of schedule and Artists Paintpots are now open.

YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK — Effective immediately, Yellowstone National Park (YNP) is closing the parking lot, trail and boardwalks at Artists Paintpots for repairs.
According to a press release from YNP, the closure will last up to two weeks. There will be no access to the hydrothermal features and mudpots during the closure.
Crews will be repairing the accessible boardwalk ramp, ensuring visitor safety and access from the parking lot to the trail network. The Yellowstone Public Affairs Office told Buckrail they do not have any additional details to share on this maintenance work.
Artists Paintpots are located south of Norris Junction in the western part of the Park.
