YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK — In a Facebook post this week, Yellowstone National Park (YNP) is reminding visitors that winter camping is available in Mammoth Hot Springs.
Open year round, the Mammoth Campground is the only campground in the Park where visitors can tough it out in the winter months without indoor heating.
“If this sounds up your alley, you can test your mettle at this campground until mid-April, at which point it will go back to a reservation system,” YNP writes. “Just make sure you have the right kind of gear (and attitude!) for an unforgettable night under Yellowstone’s winter sky.”
The campground is first-come, first-served during this time, and YNP also reminds visitors that a spot is not guaranteed. Find more information here.
No car camping or overnight vehicle parking is allowed in pullouts, parking areas, picnic grounds or any place other than a designated campground.
