YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK — Following an eventful weekend on Yellowstone National Park’s (YNP) internal roads, the majority of the park’s loop system has reopened for the final days of visitor season.
All YNP roads are now open to vehicles except for Dunraven Pass, the road connecting Tower Fall and Canyon Village, which has closed for the season, the park announced Tuesday.

The last day for visitors to drive through most of YNP will be Friday, Oct. 31, with the West, South and East Entrances closing on Nov. 1. The North and Northeast Entrances (as well as the road connecting the two) remain open year-round.
YNP reminds visitors that the annual road closure allows crews to prepare for the winter season, including making the park accessible for snowmobile and snowcoach travel, which opens Dec. 15.
Those visiting the park in fall and winter are encouraged to: prepare for changing weather conditions, have flexible travel plans, expect limited services, anticipate possible road closures due to inclement weather/dangerous driving conditions and check for temporary travel restrictions or closures that can occur at any time without notice.
