JACKSON, Wyo. — Caution! Elk crossing!

Buckrail photographer Nick Sulzer caught some footage of local elk starting their trek out of town.

Elk typically begin migrating to their summer ranges in early April. Elk will move to find south-facing hillside forage options emerging from melting snow. Some herds will enter the Teton Wilderness north of Grand Teton National Park, while other herds will travel all the way up to Yellowstone National Park.
