JACKSON, Wyo. — Whoa there, pardners!
As the fall rut season hits its stride, be sure to keep an eye out for aggressive displays by local ungulates. Buckrail photographer Nick Sulzer has captured footage of bison and moose getting into the rut spirit in beautiful local settings.
Sulzer found these bison near Moran during this rut season. Watch for these bison sticking out their tongues, and for the red dogs mimicking sparring behavior.

Remember: Charismatic megafauna can be extra territorial during the autumnal rut, so be sure to give them even more than the customary 25 yards of space.
