LARAMIE, Wyo. — The Wyoming State Geological Survey (WSGS) has unveiled a new interactive map detailing the state’s mineral resources.

The map pinpoints the locations of coal, uranium, bentonite, trona, gypsum, metals, gemstones and more. According to the WSGS, the map will be updated routinely as new data becomes available.

“We anticipate it will be useful to many individuals in the public, government and industry,” WSGS Director and State Geologist Dr. Erin Campbell said in a statement.

According to WSGS, the map evolved from its 2018 Mines and Minerals map. New features include an index of uranium logs, current mining locations, federal and state mineral leases, geochemistry data from STATEMAP projects and more.
