WYOMING — Wyoming Congresswoman Liz Cheney has been under fire recently for speaking out against former President Trump. The ongoing fallout has raised concerns from GOP leadership about Cheney’s ability to “carry out her job”, as the No.3 ranking Republican in the House.

Wyoming lawmaker, Rep. Chuck Gray has thrown his name in the ring. In March, he announced his campaign to run against Cheney in 2022.

This morning, Gray released a statement calling for the immediate removal of Congresswoman Liz Cheney from US House leadership.

“Just like Wyoming citizens who see the truth about how out of touch Liz Cheney really is, so too are her Congressional colleagues getting fed up with her betrayals and that’s why they, and we, should vote her out of office,” said Rep. Gray.

Gray also said in the statement, released by his campaign office, “Voting with Pelosi and AOC, while continuing to falsely attack President Trump, is treasonous. We must never forget her corrupt vote for impeachment and her fist bump with Biden.”

Cheney voted to impeach Trump on a charge of incitement of insurrection over the Jan. 6 attack at the U.S Capitol, the worst domestic mob attack on the Capitol in the nation’s history. She joined 10 other republicans who voted to impeach the former president.

“We can’t whitewash what happened on Jan. 6 or perpetuate Trump’s big lie. It is a threat to democracy. What he did on Jan. 6 is a line that cannot be crossed,” said Cheney.

“Liz does not represent Wyoming values. It’s time for Cheney to be removed before inflicting more harm on Wyoming and America,” Gray concluded.
