WYOMING — Wyoming has had plenty of Mega Millions® success over the years. Since its launch over a decade ago, the game has awarded the state’s largest lottery prize — a $5 million win in March 2016. So far, more than 1.6 million players in Wyoming have won a combined $16.4 million in winnings.

The Wyoming Lottery Corporation has shared exciting nationwide updates to the Mega Millions game, introducing a new $5 price point and changes aimed at improving odds and delivering faster-growing jackpots. These updates are designed to enhance the overall playing experience and provide participants with more opportunities to win big.

One of the key updates is the improved odds of winning, achieved by reducing the Mega Millions balls from 25 to 24 balls, giving players a better chance at hitting a prize. Additionally, the starting jackpot has been increased from $20 million to $50 million, offering the potential for even bigger payouts. Non-jackpot prizes have also received a significant boost with multipliers ranging from 2x to 10x.

“These changes truly make Mega Millions an even more thrilling game for players,” said Jon Clontz, WyoLotto®’s founding CEO. “As these updates roll out nationwide, we’re looking forward to seeing their positive impact here in Wyoming. The next big winner could be just around the corner.”

With bigger jackpots, more valuable non-jackpot prizes and better odds, the new Mega Millions game is set to deliver even more unforgettable moments for players.
